Henry White Beeson

Henry White Beeson (born September 14, 1791 in Uniontown , Fayette County , Pennsylvania , †  October 28, 1863 ) was an American politician . Between 1841 and 1843 he represented the state of Pennsylvania in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Henry Beeson attended public schools in his home country and then worked in agriculture. He also became a member of the Fayette County militia, where he made it to the rank of colonel. Politically, he joined the Democratic Party .

After the resignation of MP Enos Hook , Beeson was elected as his successor to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , where he took up his new mandate on May 31, 1841. Since he was not confirmed in 1842, he could only end the current legislative period in Congress until March 3, 1843 . This period was marked by tension between President John Tyler and the Whigs . In addition, a possible annexation of the Republic of Texas , which has been independent of Mexico since 1836, was already being discussed.

After the end of his time in the US House of Representatives, Henry Beeson worked again in agriculture. He died on October 28, 1863 near Uniontown, where he was also buried.
