Herbert Faust

Herbert Faust (born July 18, 1927 in Ahlen ) is a German politician and former member of the state parliament ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school , he did an apprenticeship as a chimney sweep and passed the journeyman's examination in 1945 and the master craftsman's examination in 1950 . Faust had been an independent district chimney sweep since 1960.

Faust has been a member of the CDU since 1949. He was represented in numerous party bodies. He is also a member of the Kolping Family . At times he was a member of the full assembly of the Münster Chamber of Crafts .

From 1969 to 1984 he was mayor of the city of Ahlen.

MP

From July 26, 1970 to May 29, 1985, Faust was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . He was directly elected in the constituencies 087 Beckum I and 101 Warendorf II. From 1959 to 1969 he was a member of the district council of the Beckum district . He had been a member of the city council of Ahlen since 1952. From 1969 to 1984 he was mayor of his hometown, which made him an honorary citizen in 2003.

fire Department

Herbert Faust was the fire chief of the Ahlen fire brigade from 1957 to September 1987 and also district fire chief since 1961. He was instrumental in setting up the fire brigade training facility in Ahlen-Brockhausen , which opened in 1971 .

Honors

Faust was awarded the Order of Merit of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia on November 25, 1993 .
