Herbert Frauenberger
Herbert Frauenberger (born August 28, 1952 in Tabarz in the Thuringian Forest ) is a German cook , television chef and non-fiction author .

Herbert Frauenberger attended the Polytechnic High School in Tabarz from 1959 to 1969 , where he obtained his secondary school leaving certificate . From 1969 to 1971 he completed an apprenticeship as a cook at the Schlosshotel Reinhardsbrunn . He did his military service from 1971 to 1973 with the barracked units of the riot police in Erfurt . From 1973 to 1976 he attended the hotel management school in Leipzig with a degree in restaurant and hotel business . In 1977 he became sous chef at the newly opened five-star Hotel Metropol in Berlin on Friedrichstrasse. In 1982 he became Chef de Cuisine at the Hotel Metropol and also took over the gastronomic management of the International Trade Center (IHZ) in Berlin. From 1985 to 1989 Herbert Frauenberger was the chief guard manager on the GDR luxury liner MS Arkona .
After the turn he took over as patron and chef Goethe's hangout, the Gasthaus zum white swan in Weimar. Here he entertained Willy Brandt and the Japanese imperial couple Akihito and Michiko, among others . Together with his sister Elisabeth Hügel, he ran the Hotel Frauenberger in his home town of Bad Tabarz from 1995 to 2002 . From 2002 to February 2004 he was the patron of the Hotel Goldener Loewe in Bad Köstritz . In the same year he took over the gastronomic responsibility at the wellness hotel Wolffs Art Hotel in Weimar. Together with Marion Stropahl, he ran the Hotel Galleria Frauenberger in Eisenach from 2004 to 2008 .
Herbert Frauenberger has been a columnist for the Thüringische Landeszeitung since 1991 and a television chef for the Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk since 1994 .
Herbert Frauenberger has been working as a private chef with his own adventure cooking school in Ebenheim since August 2008 .
