Herbert Heidenreich (born November 15, 1954 in Bindlach ) is a former German soccer player .
Career
Heidenreich began his career at SpVgg Bayreuth in the 2nd Bundesliga . In his first two years he made an impressive 58 appearances, in his second year he scored 14 goals in 37 games. Because of his good performance, Borussia Mönchengladbach became aware of him.
In 1976 he moved to Mönchengladbach in the Bundesliga . Here, too, he played regularly. He played his first Bundesliga game on August 14, 1976 against MSV Duisburg . He was used 20 times in the Bundesliga, once in the DFB Cup and four times in the European Cup , including the 1977 semi-final against Dynamo Kiev . This year Borussia reached the final, but it was lost. Heidenreich was also German champion with the Gladbach team in 1977 .
After five more appearances in the Bundesliga and two in the DFB-Pokal in the 1977/78 season, he moved to Tennis Borussia Berlin in the 2nd Bundesliga North in October . After a year it went back to the Bundesliga for 1. FC Nürnberg , with whom he was relegated to the 2nd division in 1979. After a year, however, it went back to first class.
For Nuremberg, he played eleven times in the DFB Cup (6 goals), including the 1982 final against FC Bayern Munich , which Nuremberg lost 2: 4.
Overall, he played 162 times in the Bundesliga (15 goals) and 115 times in the 2nd division (32 goals).
Today Heidenreich lives in Nuremberg with his wife Angelika and their three daughters.
After 15 years as a coach at FSV Bad Windsheim , he coached the district division TV Büchenbach from 2010 to 2015 . For the 2015/16 season, he switched to the state division TSV Kornburg as a coach , which he led to promotion to the Bayernliga in 2017 . He has been team manager at SC 04 Schwabach since 2019 .
