Herbert Heider

Herbert Heider (born September 21, 1959 in Gaggenau ) is a former German soccer player . He played in the position of goalkeeper .

Career

Heider was a youth national player; He began his professional career when he moved from the Schalke Amateurs as a substitute goalie to 1. FC Nürnberg in October 1978 . In the 1978/79 season he made four appearances in the 2nd Bundesliga , but then moved to Karlsruher SC . 1980 to 1982 he was the goalkeeper of the first team of 1. FC Saarbrücken in the 2nd national and major league . In 1982 he moved to the Stuttgarter Kickers (2nd Bundesliga) for a year . In 1983 he first returned to 1. FC Nürnberg as a substitute goalkeeper behind Rudi Kargus , but made his first two Bundesliga appearances in the 1983/84 season . After 1. FC Nürnberg was relegated to the 2. Bundesliga in 1984, he became a regular goalkeeper and, after being promoted again in 1985, he was celebrated as a “promotion hero 1985” thanks to his parades in the decisive game against Hessen Kassel . Heider suffered a shoulder injury on January 18, 1986 during a game against SV Waldhof Mannheim and was disabled in sports, although he was in the squad of 1. FC Nuremberg until the end of 1986. Due to his injury, the future national goalkeeper Andreas Köpke moved up to position 1.

In total, he came to 22 Bundesliga and over 50 second division games.

After his active time, Heider became a partner in a plastering and plastering company .
