Herbert Jefferson, Jr.
Herb Jefferson, Jr. (born September 18, 1946 in Sandersville , Georgia ) is an American actor .
Life
Jefferson graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City with a degree in acting in 1969 . He then began a career as a television actor, initially as a guest star on television series such as Cobra Take Over and The Streets of San Francisco . In 1978 he received the role of Lt. Boomer in the Battlestar Galactica series . In the sequel Battlestar Galactica 1980 he was promoted as a colonel to deputy to Commander Adama. After the series was discontinued, he continued to have guest appearances in series in the course of the 1980s, including in the pilot episode of Airwolf . From the end of the 1980s, he was seen only irregularly as an actor, including in the feature film Outbreak and the science fiction production Star Trek: Of Gods and Men .
Jefferson performs occasionally at Battlestar Galactica conventions and supports the United States Marine Corps' Toys for Tots program .
