Herbert Koch (Manager)

Herbert Koch (born November 8, 1941 in Klagenfurt , Carinthia ) is an Austrian manager.

Life

Herbert Koch attended elementary school and grammar school in Klagenfurt until he went to the University of World Trade in Vienna after graduating from high school . In 1963 he received his diploma and three years later he received his doctorate in commercial science .

After a year of military service , Koch joined the management of the furniture retail chain Rudolf Leiner GmbH in 1967 and became its managing director in 1973. In the same year, under the umbrella of the Leiner Group, he founded a second chain, kika GmbH , which specialized in furniture for self-collection. Under his leadership, the company rose to become the leading provider of home furniture in Austria and also expanded into the neighboring countries of Hungary and the Czech Republic.

Herbert Koch is the son-in-law of the late company owner Rudolf Leiner . At the beginning of 2009 he handed over the management to his successors and retired.
