Herbert Kubica
Herbert Kubica (born June 16, 1906 in Nuremberg , † July 17, 1972 in Bremen ) was a German sculptor .
biography
Kubica studied in Leipzig and Berlin . In 1928 he came to Bremen. In 1934 he created the stone figures for the prisoner of war memorial in the Bremer Wallanlagen at the foot of the Altmannshöhe in memory of the German soldiers who died during the First World War . In 1936 the dying youth was created , a bronze memorial for the fallen soldiers of the Gerstenberg Division and the Caspari Freikorps, which is now also in the ramparts. In 1958 he designed the lower relief frieze made of Obernkirchen sandstone on the side of the Sparkasse on the market .
Kubica created u. a. also the busts of the art hall director Emil Waldmann and the writer Rudolf Alexander Schröder . He was also a teacher at the Bremen State Art School .
