Herbert Maschke (born September 2, 1930 in Dresden ; † June 13, 2000 ) was a German football player who was active in his career for Dynamo Dresden and Dynamo Berlin .

Athletic career

Herbert Maschke began his career at SG Cotta , and in the early 1950s he switched to SG Deutsche Volkspolizei Dresden . In the summer of 1950, over 40 players from the existing VP communities in Forst (Lausitz) were brought together in order to put together the squad for the future community in Dresden. In addition to Maschke, service providers from the SG Volkspolizei Potsdam , including Herbert Schoen , Johannes Matzen and Günter Schröter , were integrated into the Dresden team.

Maschke drove with Dynamo Dresden in the founding year 1953 in front of Wismut Aue in the GDR championship. Afterwards he was delegated with the team from Dynamo Dresden to Berlin to SC Dynamo Berlin, founded in 1954 . With Dynamo Berlin he won the FDGB Cup after a 3-2 victory over SC Wismut Karl-Marx-Stadt in 1959 , but was always inferior in the GDR championship to the six-time GDR champions and local rivals Vorwärts Berlin . In 1954 Maschke was once appointed to the selection of the Democratic Sector Berlin . With the selection, which consisted of players from the East Berlin clubs Vorwärts and Dynamo , Maschke did not get more than 3: 3 in the Moabiter Poststadion against West Berlin . In 1962 Maschke reached the FDGB Cup final again with Berlin, losing to SC Chemie Halle 1: 3

At the international level, Maschke played a total of seven international matches for the GDR national football team between 1959 and 1962 . He ended his career at the East Berlin Dynamo branch Dynamo Hohenschönhausen , after which he worked at a lower class at SG Dynamo Adlershof .
