Herbert Mayer (table tennis player)

Herbert Mayer (* approx. 1938) is a German table tennis player . He took part in the 1959 World Cup.

Career

Mayer began playing table tennis at the TSV Obergünzburg club. With his men's team he played in the 1950s in the Oberliga , the then highest German division. From here he moved to TTC Burgkunstadt in 1957 and to Post SV Munich in 1959 . With Josef Seiz he was 1957/58 Bavarian champion in doubles.

1959 Mayer was nominated for the individual competitions of the world championship in Dortmund. Here he was eliminated in doubles with Herbert Marx in the first round against Zbigniew Calinski / Janusz Kusinski (Poland).
