Herbert Mytteis

Herbert Mytteis (born July 14, 1916 in Vienna ; † October 30, 1967 there) was an Austrian jazz and entertainment musician (violinist, composer).

Mytteis was trained on the violin at the conservatory in his hometown and at the Vienna Music Academy . In the 1930s he was a member of Charly Gaudriot's radio orchestra . He also performed with his own quintet in pubs in Vienna to perform jazz and swing . From 1943 onwards, the Steffl-Diele of the Cafe de l'Europe performed together with the Italian singer and guitarist Vittorio Ducchini, the pianist Ernst Landl , the French drummer Arthur Motta and occasionally other musicians such as Hans Koller or Viktor Plasil . Due to the popularity of the audience, there were recordings, but initially almost no publications. After the suppression of National Socialism , he also played in the Hot Club Vienna . With his soloists he accompanied Minja Petja and Karl Hruschka on recordings by Telefunken . He composed pieces such as Intermezzo in Swing , Guggi , Since you gone and In the sky, there shines a Laternderl.
