Herbert Ottersbach

Herbert Ottersbach (born May 12, 1930 in Wuppertal ; † July 22, 2016 there ) was a German civil servant .

Life

Herbert Ottersbach entered the civil service after studying at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . He worked in Defense Division III . Herbert Ottersbach was President of the Federal Language Office (BSprA) from 1992 to 1995. Ottersbach was a member of the CDU . From 1969 to 1999 he was a member of the Wuppertal City Council. Ottersbach was married and has four children. Since 1955 he was a member of the Catholic student association KDSt.V. Alania Bonn in the CV .

Volunteering

Pope John Paul II named him Knight of the New Year's Eve in 2004 because of his diverse church engagement . He had been volunteering for the Wuppertal Church since his youth, including in the city's Catholic Council. In 1957 he was one of the founding fathers of the Catholic Holiday Association in Wuppertal. For many years he was chairman of the “St. Josef Foundation - Center for Orthopedics and Rheumatology”. From 1969 to 1984 Ottersbach was chairman of the parish council of St. Marien in Elberfeld and from 1997 to 2003 a member of the church council of Herz Jesu in Elberfeld.
