Herbert Puschnik (born October 13, 1944 in Groß-Reipersdorf / Pulkau , Lower Austria ) is an Austrian local researcher and visual artist .

Life

Herbert Puschnik, son of local historian Alois Puschnik , married to Herta Puschnik, worked as a high school teacher in Horn after completing his training as a historian at the University of Vienna and as an academic painter at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna in Vienna . In addition to workshops with his students, he devoted himself to researching the history of the city of Pulkau . As a painter he captured the local color of the picturesque towns in the Wein- und Waldviertel. For the pilgrimage church of Maria Dreieichen near Horn he created stations of the cross in mosaic technique, as well as the church window of the three apostles Cyril, Method and Benedict in the sacristy. One of his tapestries adorns St. Stephen's Church in Horn, and his gemed cross enlivens the Karner in Pulkau . He took part in numerous exhibitions. He is currently involved in the “Sonn-Wend-Stein” association, a platform to publicize the prehistoric monuments of Lower Austria.
