Herbert Schmülling

Herbert Schmülling (born September 23, 1937 in Gelsenkirchen , † December 9, 2014 in Bonn ) was a German political official ( FDP ).

Life

After graduating from high school in Bonn, Schmülling studied law at the universities of Bonn , Cologne , Berlin and Hamburg from 1957 . In 1967 he passed the major state examination in law in Berlin .

Through contact with the former FDP parliamentary deputies Karl Moersch Schmülling in 1967 an assistant in the FDP parliamentary group and worked in the parliamentary committee of inquiry , the circumstances in the procurement of the armored personnel carrier HS 30 for the Bundeswehr should be clarified. He was also involved in the preparation of the 1969 federal election campaign . Since that time he was close friends with Hans-Dietrich Genscher and in the same year became press officer in the Federal Ministry of the Interior . In 1974 he became head of the ministerial office under Werner Maihofer . From 1981 to 1985 he was the editor in charge of the free democratic correspondence (fdk).

From 1990 to 1994 Schmülling worked as a permanent state secretary in the Federal Ministry of Construction and from 1995 to 1998 he was deputy government spokesman in the government of Helmut Kohl .
