Herbert woe

Herbert Weh (born March 1, 1928 in Lindau (Lake Constance) ) is a German electrical engineer .

Career

From 1947 Weh studied electrical engineering at the Technical University of Karlsruhe and in December 1955 submitted his doctoral thesis to its faculty for mechanical sciences . From 1954 he worked as head of the development department of the machine manufacturer Schorch in Rheydt . From 1961 to 1995 he was head of the Institute for Electrical Machines, Drives and Railways at the Technical University of Braunschweig .

The focus of his work was the further development of electromagnetic energy conversion and the introduction of magnetic levitation technology. He is considered one of the fathers of the Transrapid .
