Herbert (Heppo) Zimmer (born February 12, 1953 ) is a former German soccer player .

career

In 1970, Heppo Zimmer switched from the youth of VfL Kray to the then regional league team Schwarz-Weiß Essen . After a brief engagement with the amateurs of the club, the winger gained a foothold in the first team from 1973; Heppo Zimmer played his first game in the then second-rate Regionalliga West on August 26, 1973 in a 1-0 win in Aachen , and scored his first goal a month later in a 6-0 win over 1. FC Mülheim . After the 1973/74 season, in which Heppo Zimmer had made a total of 28 games with three goals for the ETB black and white, the club was classified in the 2nd Bundesliga North .
