occupation

The Virginity Hit is a 2010 low-budget teen comedy produced by Adam McKay and Will Ferrell .

The film consists of several videos from camcorders , digital cameras and cell phones that document a teen's attempt to lose his innocence. On February 10, 2011, five months after it was released in the USA, the film was released as direct-to-DVD in Germany .

action

The film looks at how friends Matt, Zack, Jacob and Justin lose their innocence. To this end, the teenagers bought a bong that is smoked every time one of the four has lost their innocence. Matt, who is the last to be a virgin, would like to join his girlfriend Nicole on the anniversary. The preparations for the evening are already in progress, always documented by the friends, when Matt learns that Nicole has betrayed him. The friends are therefore planning a rejection in front of the camera after Matt has slept with her. Matt doesn't have the heart to do it that night. Nicole learns of the attempt to expose her and tells that she made out with someone while drunk, but did not sleep, as suspected. When Matt's friends put the rebuff on YouTube , the film becomes a YouTube hit.

Then a stranger calls up, Beccy, who pretends to feel sorry for Matt and wants to sleep with him. Zack agrees with Matt, who is not only his friend but also his adoptive brother. On the way to Becca, Matt and Krysta get closer in a drunk state. However, since Krysta is Matt's adoptive sister, Zack intervenes and prevents further action. Becca finally lets Matt show what he can do with a sex doll . When she leaves him alone, he waits for hours in vain for her return. Becca posts films of it on a blog where she studies male behavior. These films are also becoming YouTube hits and Matt is withdrawing more and more.

To finally deflower Matt, his friends collect money and buy his favorite porn actress Sunny Leone for one night. However, during the night she is convinced that Matt should have his first time with someone he really loves. Matt asks her for five minutes alone and makes out with Sunny during this time, just like Nicole did. He then finds Nicole at a party and they have sex for the first time after Matt tells her everything. The film ends with the friends celebrating the loss of his innocence with the bong.

background

Most of the film was shot and improvised by the main actors, only a small part of the film was dictated by the script. The films made by the actors were published on YouTube during production and can still be found there. Most of the actors used their own names in the film. The porn actress Sunny Leone portrayed herself in the film. The film, which cost about two million US dollars, was released in September 2010 and grossed almost 637,000 US dollars in theaters.

reception

The audience and critics rated the film as moderate to poor. The authentic appearing representations of the actors were praised.

“What starts out as a shaky amateur video on a hackneyed comedy theme then lets you look deeply into the growth of the You-Tube generation with some wit. - Puberty is funny, but not always funny. "

“For little money, co-produced by Will Ferrell and designed by the duo Botko / Gurland (“ The Last Exorcism ”), genuinely trying to break taboos, young men defloration slap in the contemporary guise of a documentary fiction. The main actors are not very sympathetic but come across as authentic, which in addition to one or the other improvised dialogue may also be due to the fact that real teenagers and not twentysomethings are playing here for a change. Is hyped as a " superbad " for the YouTube generation. "
