Herbert von Marouschek

Herbert von Marouschek (born November 1, 1909 in Vienna ; † February 11, 1961 there ) was an Austrian publicist and author .

Marouschek wrote numerous homeland books such as “Vienna, how it cries and laughs”. From 1933 to 1944 and from 1955 to 1956 he published the monthly Mein Böhmerwald , a magazine for local literature, art and history. From 1952 Marouschek began collecting cultural goods from the Bohemian Forest and exhibiting them in various Viennese inns; subsequently the Bohemian Forest Museum was created .

Marouschek died impoverished shortly after he was admitted to the Kaiser-Franz-Josef-Spital .
