history

From an initiative of the writers Herbert von Marouschek and Karl Haudek in 1952, the local history museum was created, which initially appeared in various taverns with its exhibits. In 1960 the museum was merged with the Erzgebirger Heimatstube collection . In 2010, the collection comprised more than 15,000 items, such as traditional costumes, pictures, photos, and everyday farm items from parts of the Bohemian Forest and the Ore Mountains that were German-speaking before the First World War . Attached is a library and an extensive collection of historical postcards. All objects in the museum are digitally inventoried and photographed.
