Zephyrin Zettl

Zephyrin Zettl (born July 14, 1876 in Stadln , Bohemia , † July 4, 1935 in Vienna ) was a printer and German-speaking dialect poet from the Bohemian Forest .

Zettl was born in Stadln ( Stodůlky ) in the central Bohemian Forest . Stadln was one of the "Künischen free peasant courts" . When Zephyrin Zettl was six years old, her parents moved to Vienna. Zettl spent his school days with his parents in Vienna, and during the summer holidays he was with his grandparents in the Bohemian Forest. Zettl did an apprenticeship as a book printer at the Austrian State Printing House in Vienna and made it there as a state official up to the head of materials management. In 1932 he retired as chief controller. Zettl lived with his wife and four children from 1910 to 1927 at Wassergasse 18, in Vienna-Landstrasse , where there is a memorial plaque. His honorary grave is located at the Vienna Central Cemetery (2nd gate, group 12B-R 1 / grave 23).

Zettl wrote his dialect poems in the “Künisch” of his original homeland.
