Johann Peter (writer, 1858)
Johann Peter (born February 23, 1858 in Buchwald , † February 14, 1935 in Winterberg ) was an Austrian writer . He also published under the pseudonyms Hans von Buchenwald and Hans von der Moldau .
Life
Johann Peter attended school in Bergreichenstein and completed a teacher training course in Budweis . From 1878 to 1882 he worked as a sub-teacher in Budweis, until 1897 as headmaster in Großmeiseldorf in Lower Austria . Johann Peter spent the years between 1897 and 1903 in Prachatitz . He was editor of the magazine “Böhmerwald” (9 years 1899–1907), Pohl Prachatitz. 1903–1924: Teacher in Haida (Northern Bohemia), most recently senior teacher in Bohemian-Leipa . 1930–1935 Johann Peter lived in Winterberg (Bohemian Forest).
Johann Peter was called " Rosegger of the Bohemian Forest". This applies both to his life, which, like the great Styrian folk poet, began in a secluded forest village - Buchwald, the highest village in the Bohemian Forest - as well as to the poetic work that repeatedly revolves around his beloved forest home, the Bohemian Forest , revolves around village life, customs and traditions.
The volume of stories "Once upon a time in the Bohemian Forest" was re-edited by his great-grandson Marc-Antoine Johannes Peter at the Robert Baierl publishing house in Passau.
