The Herbst Glacier is a glacier in Marie-Byrd Land in western Antarctica . It is the eastern of two glaciers that flow in the Ames Range from the northern slopes of Mount Kosciusko into the icy Brown Valley .

The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy between 1959 and 1965. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1974 after Emmett Lee Herbst (1925-1998), who from 1968 to 1969 on the drilling program on the Byrd -Station involved and 1971-1976 on the McMurdo station and other areas of Antarctica worked.
