content

In terms of content, autumn lawsuits , unlike traditional Black Metal, are not about Satanism , but about nature (in autumn ), the associated loneliness , depression and Germanic mythology , which is mainly sung about in Pagan Metal . In the second song, Herbst, the country processed the singer Winterherz Friedrich Nietzsche's poem Vereinsamt :

“See the land wither in autumn. Feel the tear in my heart, what was once lost ... what was once lost ... The crows scream and whirring to the city: Woe to me who has no home. How do I bring the years back? How do I bring my smile back? time doesn't heal all wounds ... "

- FOREST WHISPER (autumn attacked the land)

The original is:

"The crows are screaming and whirring to the city: Soon it will be snowing, - woe to him who has no home!"

- NIETZSCHE (Association)

In the third song, Wolfsgeheul , Winterherz takes up mythological themes for the first time , such as forest spirits who lived in the forest before they were driven away.

Wotan sang describes the creation of Midgard and the robbery of the Skaldmet by Wotan . There are also reports of the giant ash Yggdrasil , from which Wotan on his throne Hlidskialf overlooks the country.

Of loneliness ... describes the loneliness of the protagonist who is responsible for this pain himself. He accuses the forests of killing his laughter and thereby corrupting him and feeding on his laughter. In the end, the protagonist describes loneliness as a friend and foe.

Reviews

Walter Scherer from Powermetal.de described the style of the album as a harmony between romanticism and evil Black Metal, whereby he particularly emphasized that the lyrics did not seem cheesy, like the musician's band name. However, he criticized the fact that the singer had to point out that he did not want to convey any political ideology. He gave the album 6.5 out of 10 points.

Nils Herzog from Musikreview.de described the album as "almost a food of the gods of melancholic Black Metal". Above all, the singer's growls had a positive impact on the critic and were rousing and moving. Above all, the second lawsuit, in which the poem Vereinsamt was incorporated, conjured up “real goose bumps”. Herzog gave the album 10 out of a possible 15 points.

Björn Thorsten Jaschinski from Rock Hard, on the other hand, wrote that the revision of the song Wotan sang , which was also available on the demo CD, was "close to the limit of embarrassment", whereby he also called the demo CD " Juliane-Werding - Hit "stamped. The reviewer only gave the album a 5.

Stefan Frühauf from dark-festivals.de certified that the album had a "hearty sound" and successful acoustic passages, but the vocals could "be far less convincing". Overall, he described the album as an "average debut".
