The house at Herbststrasse 8 is a listed , late historical building in Heilbronn .
history
The building was erected in 1896 for the Heilbronn manufacturer Johann Michael Weipert according to plans by the architect August Dederer .
After it was destroyed in World War II , it was reconstructed by Adolf Braunwald . According to Fekete, typical of the reconstruction is the "pious, reconstructive handling of the historical original"; the conscious reference to the destruction and the reconstruction of the house as an inscription above the side entrance of the house is enlightening for the reconstruction in terms of cultural history.
In 2005 the building received the Good Buildings award for the renovation planned by the architect Matthias Müller. The reasoning states:
“The new structure and use of the building take into account the former character of the splendid city villa. The interior is characterized by a flowing lightness. At the same time, a look into the future is taken into account, and a later conversion into separate units is possible. The renovation was carried out with the highest architectural quality and the greatest possible care in the choice of materials. "

The facade of the three-storey building is symmetrical: strong neo-baroque cornices and a bel étage with elaborate, neo-baroque building sculptures divide the facade horizontally; in the vertical, it is structured by grooved pilasters and axially arranged windows. The central axis of the facade is particularly emphasized by a central projecting with twin windows . The neo-baroque pilasters at the corners of the central risalit are additionally adorned with neoclassical acroters over triglyphs .
Art historical significance
Fekete describes the house as late historic, with neo-baroque forms dominating, which are "sensitively enriched" with neoclassical architectural decorations.
