August Dederer (* 1858 ; † April 17, 1903 ) was a German architect .

Life and Buildings

Dederer was the son of a building contractor. He worked mainly in Heilbronn . In the Kaiserstraße he built the house Kleinlogel (Kaiserstraße 5) and the semi-detached house Bauknecht & Graeßle (Kaiserstraße 33-35) during its transformation into a boulevard around 1900 , both of which were destroyed in the air raid on December 4, 1944 . Several of his companies located outside the old town and preserved so buildings are now under monument protection : The House Weipert in Heilbronn Herbststraße 8 is a historistisches factory house from 1896. On Silcher 6th place in Heilbronn is in a former home of a teacher, the elements of Neo-Renaissance with those of neo-baroque combined. The house at Uhlandstrasse 70 in Heilbronn was once known as the Uhlandslinde restaurant . At Wilhelmstrasse 52 , 54 and 56 in Heilbronn, three three-story buildings by Dederer stand side by side, some of which he created on behalf of his mother between 1898 and 1901. They harmonize stylistically with one another; the facades are lavishly decorated in the style of late historicism.

Towards the end of the 19th century (until the end of 1898) and again from 1901 to 1902, Dederer was a member of the Heilbronn Citizens Committee . Dederer was also the founder of the stone sawmill in Weinsberg. After Dederer's death, he was succeeded by the architects Beutinger & Steiner .
