Heribert Bogensperger

Heribert Bogensperger (born August 26, 1959 in Knittelfeld ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and tax officer. He is mayor of the Lobmingtal municipality in the Murtal district and was a member of the Austrian Federal Council from 2002 to 2005 .

education and profession

Bogensperger began his education between 1965 and 1969 at the elementary school in Großlobming and then continued his education at the general education secondary school in Knittelfeld. He then moved to the Higher Federal School for Alpine Agriculture in Irdning and, after graduating from high school, studied agricultural economics at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna from 1980 . In 1985 he completed his studies with the academic degree Dipl.-Ing. from, 1986 he completed his military service. As a result, Bogensperger worked professionally between 1986 and 1987 on a research contract for the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry on soil erosion in Eastern Styria, and in 1988 he switched to the financial service. In 1991 he became group leader and deputy to the technical manager of the Styrian soil assessment in the regional financial office for Styria and has also been a farmer and forester since 1986. Since 1992 he has also been active as a court sworn expert for real estate.

Politics and functions

Bogensperger is involved in local politics at the local level and was elected to the local council in Großlobming in 1995. In 1999 he was promoted to deputy mayor, and in 2004 he took over the office of mayor. Within the party, he has also been active as local party chairman of the Austrian People's Party Grosslobming since 2000, and in 2002 he also took on the role of district party chairman of the Austrian People's Party Knittelfeld. In addition, Bogensperger has been the local chairman of the Austrian Workers' Union (ÖAAB) from Großlobming since 1997, and in 2001 he also took over the role of district chairman of the ÖAAB Knittelfeld.

Bogensperger was a member of the Federal Council from December 10, 2002 to October 24, 2005 and a member of numerous Federal Council committees.

Bogensperger is married and has one daughter.
