Lobmingtal is a municipality with 1839 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in the Murtal district and the judicial district of Judenburg in Styria . The municipality has an area of 54.38 km².
geography
The main town of Großlobming is located at an altitude of 641 m around three kilometers south of the center of Knittelfeld am Murboden , at the entrance to the Lobmingbach valley. The municipality is bounded by the Mur in the north .
Community structure
The municipal area comprises the following three localities or cadastral communities of the same name (residents as of January 1, 2020, area: as of December 31, 2018):
- Großlobming (1218 Ew., 739.47 ha)
- Kleinlobming (363 Ew., 3,549.59 ha)
- Mitterlobming (258 Ew., 1.165.17 ha)
In the course of the structural reform of the Styrian community , the community Großlobming was merged with the community Kleinlobming in 2015.

history
As part of the structural reform of the Styrian community , the communities Großlobming and Kleinlobming were merged in 2015 , the new community was named Großlobming .
According to a municipal council resolution, the municipality has been named Lobmingtal since 2016 . See: large lobming # history and small lobming # history
population
Lobmingtal is a municipality of residence, i. H. Most of the working residents commute to the surrounding towns of Knittelfeld, Zeltweg or Judenburg. Of the 667 residents who commuted in 2011, almost half were employed within five to nine kilometers and a further twenty percent under twenty kilometers.

Economy and Infrastructure
- Tourism: Together with Gaal, Kobenz, Seckau, Spielberg, St. Marein-Feistritz and Zeltweg, the municipality forms the tourism association “Tourismus am Spielberg”. Its seat is in Spielberg.

- With the municipal council elections in Styria 2020 , the municipal council has the following distribution: 10 ÖVP, 3 FPÖ and 2 SPÖ.

coat of arms
Both previous municipalities had a municipality coat of arms. Due to the amalgamation of municipalities, these lost their official validity on January 1st, 2015.
Since June 1, 1993 Lobming was entitled to use a municipal coat of arms, which was dedicated to St. Thomas.
Blazon (coat of arms description):
- "In a red shield with golden flanks in a thistle leaf cut, a lance growing golden, piercing a crown of leaves".
The new municipal coat of arms for the merged municipality was newly awarded by the state government with effect from January 30, 2019.
The blazon (description of the coat of arms) reads:
- "In a red shield under a golden shield head in thistle-leaf cut silver, a circular Gothic steel-cut rosette, in which a pierced three-blade nut encloses a lying three-leaf surrounded in a spherical triangle by three standing three-leaves."
