Granitzen is a scattered settlement in the Seetal Alps in Styria . Granitzen forms a village or a cadastral municipality of the Obdach municipality in the Murtal district .

geography

The scattered houses are located below the Zirbitzkogel  ( 2396  m above sea level ) in the rear valley of the Granitzenbach , at altitudes around 1100  m above sea level. A. The area is located near the border with Carinthia , the name derives from the border location (old Slavic Granica , border ').

The village has about 100 buildings with about 180 inhabitants. For Ortschafts- and Katastralgemeindegebiet include the scattered houses Koller ditch , the cottage colony Sabathygebiet and Homesteads Gutjahr, gag Bauer, Leirer, Perwolf, Pusterer, Stiegenwirt, exchangers, Walberer , and individual layers Gasthof Fiedlwirt, Almgasthof Rieser Alm Almgasthof Rothaidenhütte, Sabathyhütte and Zirbitzkogelhaus and the Almen Buchmoarhütte, Linderhütte, Perwolfbrendl, Reiterhütte , and Zirbenwaldhütte .

history

The formerly independent municipality was merged with the market municipality of Obdach on January 1, 1970, the village and cadastral municipality continue to exist.
