Kleinlobming is a former municipality with 616 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2016) in the Murtal district and judicial district Judenburg in Styria . As part of the Styrian municipal structural reform , Kleinlobming has been incorporated into the Lobmingtal municipality since 2015 . The basis for this was the Styrian Municipal Structural Reform Act - StGsrG. A complaint brought by the municipality against the amalgamation to the Constitutional Court was unsuccessful.

Geographical location
Kleinlobming is located around 6.5 km south of Knittelfeld in Lobmingbachtal on the north-western slope of the Gleinalpe .
The area includes the Lobmingbach valley with the slopes of the Gleinalpe that accompany the valley. The highest point is at 1670 m above sea level. A. the stone plan. At 660 m, the lowest point is the point where the Lobmingbach leaves the area towards the Mur .

The community was divided into the two cadastral communities and towns of the same name: Kleinlobming (369 inhabitants) and Mitterlobming, which was incorporated in 1958 (247 inhabitants) (as of January 1, 2016) .
Incorporations
Today's community was created in 1958 from the merger of the two communities Kleinlobming and Mitterlobming.
In the course of the structural reform of the Styrian community , the community of Kleinlobming was merged with the community of Großlobming in 2015 and was renamed Großlobming in 2015 . The municipality has been called Lobmingtal since 2016 .

history
The Lobming Valley was settled in the 7th and 8th centuries AD by Slavic settlers. This can be derived from the Slavic place names Lobming (from lom ) and Lobmingbach (from lomnik ).
The first documentary mention comes from the year 927.
In 1066 the Eppensteiners received parish rights to the church in Lomnicha at the foot of the Piberalpe (= Stubalpe ). For the 12th and 13th centuries, the ministerial family of the Lobmingers can be proven, the remains of one of their castles are in the Sulzgraben.
The political community of Kleinlobming was established in 1849/50. Around 1885, the member of the Reichsrat and Landtag, Michael Brandl, vulgo Hauser, shaped the political history of Lobming and Upper Styria. The population was 1075 people.
In 1958, under the then mayor and member of the National Council, Johann Schrotter, the previously independent municipality of Mitterlobming was incorporated.

According to the 2001 census, Kleinlobming had 721 inhabitants. 96.3% of the population had Austrian citizenship. 96.5% of the population committed to the Roman Catholic Church and 0.1% to the Protestant Church. 2.5% were without religious belief.
Economy and Infrastructure
According to the 2001 census of workplaces , there were 34 workplaces with 118 employees, as well as 198 out-commuters and 50 in-commuters. There were 80 agricultural and forestry holdings (42 of them in the main occupation), which together farmed 4133 ha (1999).
The forest area is around 3500 ha.
The access to traffic takes place via Landesstraße Lobmingerstraße L 504. At the southern border of the area, Gaberl Straße B 77 runs as a connection from Murboden towards Graz .
In addition to a few wood processing companies, the inns along Gaberl Straße as well as the small Kleinlobming ski area and the outdoor swimming pool play a certain role economically in the structurally weak area.

coat of arms
Since June 1, 1993 Lobming was entitled to use a municipal coat of arms, which is dedicated to St. Thomas.

- "In a red shield with golden flanks in a thistle leaf cut, a lance growing golden, piercing a crown of leaves".
Due to the amalgamation of the municipalities, the coat of arms lost its official validity on January 1st, 2015.
