Flatschach is a former municipality with 192 inhabitants (as of October 31, 2013) in the Murtal district and the Judenburg judicial district in Styria . The community is located directly on the Red Bull Ring .
As part of the Styrian community structural reform , it has been merged with the city of Spielberg since 2015 , the new community continues to use the name Stadtgemeinde Spielberg. The basis for this is the Styrian Municipal Structural Reform Act - StGsrG.
geography
Geographical location
Flatschach is located directly north of Zeltweg im Aichfeld and stretches along the Flatschacher Bach to the Flatschacher Höhe (1363 m). The lowest point is in the Aichfeld at 669 m. The Flatschacherbach is named after Flatschach.

The community consisted of a single cadastral community and town of the same name .
Incorporations
In the course of the structural reform of the Styrian community , the community of Flatschach was merged with the municipality of Spielberg in 2015.
In the referendum on June 9, 2013, 84.78% of Flatschachers rejected the amalgamation of the Flatschach municipality with the Spielberg municipality.

The political community Flatschach was established in 1849/50.
population
According to the 2001 census, the community had 180 inhabitants. 99.4% of the population had Austrian citizenship. 92.7% of the population committed to the Roman Catholic Church and 2.8% to the Evangelical Church. 5.6% were without religious belief.
Economy and Infrastructure
According to the 2001 census of workplaces , there were 4 workplaces with 10 employees in the community as well as 55 out-commuters and 7 in-commuters. There were 16 agricultural and forestry holdings (10 of which were the main occupation), which together farmed 916 hectares (1999).

The municipal council last consisted of nine members and, since the municipal council election in 2010, has consisted of mandataries from the following parties:

The municipal coat of arms was awarded with effect from October 1, 2004.
