Heribert Donnerbauer

Heribert Donnerbauer (born August 4, 1965 in Vienna ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ). From May 2012 to November 2016 he was President, then until June 2017 Chairman of the Austrian Cooperative Association (ÖGV).

Life

After primary school in Vienna and Perchtoldsdorf , Heribert Donnerbauer attended the AHS in Mödling and Stockerau from 1975 and the secondary school in Hollabrunn from 1979 , where he passed the Matura in 1983 . After military service, he began studying law at the University of Vienna in 1984 , which he obtained in 1993 with the title Mag. Iur. completed. He has been working as a lawyer in Retz since 1998 . He is married and has two daughters.

Political career

He began his political career in 1992 as the party chairman of the ÖVP in the municipality of Hardegg , became district party chairman of the ÖVP Hollabrunn in 2000 and vice mayor of Hardegg in 2005, where he was elected mayor in 2008. Donnerbauer held the mayor's office until March 31, 2019.

Since July 2001 he has been a member of the National Council of the ÖVP for constituency 3A ( Weinviertel ). In this function he was a member of various committees and was also a chairman there (Justice Committee, Immunity Committee). On July 4, 2012, he resigned from the National Council.
