The HerkulesGroup is a group of machine tool manufacturers based in Siegen . A total of around 1,500 employees work in the group worldwide (as of 2017). Roll grinding machines, roll texturing machines, horizontal lathes, vertical lathes, portal milling machines and boring mills are manufactured. In addition, there are special gears, measuring and testing systems, machine controls and power electronics. The five main production sites are in Germany (Siegen, Burbach , Chemnitz , Meuselwitz and Sonthofen ). The HerkulesGroup also has production companies in Austria , the USA and India as well as sales and service branches in China , Japan , Russia , Brazil , South Korea , Singapore , the United Arab Emirates and the Czech Republic .
The HerkulesGroup has been family-owned and run by the owner family since it was founded. Christoph Thoma heads the group as a managing partner in the third generation.

history
The original company of the group is the Herkules machine factory , which was founded in Siegen in 1911. The HerkulesGroup developed from it through strategic acquisitions and the establishment of new companies. In 1992, the Herkules Meuselwitz machine factory in Thuringia was taken over, which doubled production capacities. With Herkules USA, the first production facility in America followed in 1996. HCC / KPM was created in 1999 from the merger of the two companies Herkules Controls Corporation and Kube Plekker Microsystems. In 2004 the competitor WaldrichSiegen was integrated into the group of companies. The Indian production company Deutsche Maschinen India was founded in 2007. In 2011 Union Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH Chemnitz was taken over to expand the product portfolio. In 2012 RSGetriebe in Sonthofen was taken over and in 2014 SBA mechatronics in Weikersdorf / Austria. PowerSparks was founded in 2015 in Berghaupten.
