Herman Krebbers (born June 18, 1923 in Hengelo ; † May 2, 2018 in Tilburg ) was a Dutch violinist and sought-after violin teacher.

Live and act

Herman Krebbers studied in Amsterdam with Oskar Back (1879–1963). In 1943 the 19-year-old made his debut with the Concertgebouw Orchestra , whose concertmaster he became in 1962. At the same time he began a brilliant career as a soloist and chamber musician. After an accident in 1979, he had to limit his solo work.

As a teacher of the master class at the Amsterdam Conservatory, he gained worldwide recognition and trained many well-known violinists, including Frank Peter Zimmermann , Jeanne Lamon , Sophia Jaffé , Vera Beths , Emmy Verhey and Rudolf Koelman . Also André Rieu has attended master classes with Krebbers. In 2009, Herman Krebbers officially ended his musical career and transferred his private archive to the violin maker André van Putten, with whom he had a long friendship.
