Hermann Aschwer

Hermann Aschwer (born January 17, 1947 in Drensteinfurt ) is a German triathlete and author of several books on the same subject.

Career

Hermann Aschwer started triathlon in 1983. It applies to Klaus Klaeren , Hannes Blaschke , Manuel Debus , Detlef Kühnel and others. a., as a pioneer of the German triathlon sport. See also: History of the triathlon in Germany .

In 1985 he took part in the Ironman Hawaii for the first time . He needed 11:41:21 h in this race and reached 325th place. In the same year and 1991 he completed the ETU European Championships in the long distance triathlon in Almere, Holland . At the Dutch Double in Lelystad (Netherlands) over the double Ironman distance, Aschwer finished fifth in 1991 with 24:54:00 h.

Aschwer is a retired teacher. He started three times in the Ironman in Hawaii. During his sporting career he participated in all forms of triathlon. To date, he has participated in 360 triathlons, including 37 Ironman distances worldwide.

In 2017 he became German champion over the triathlon sprint distance and the duathlon short distance in his age category. In 2018 he led the Ironman 70.3 world rankings in the AK 70 with victories in St. Pölten , Luxembourg and Binz . He achieved a score of 10500 points in the AWA Ironman rating.

Aschwer is married and has two daughters.
