Hermann Barche

Hermann Barche (born July 29, 1913 in Hanover , † November 28, 2001 in Wunstorf ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending school, Barche completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter from 1928 to 1931 and worked in this profession until 1949. He took part in the Second World War as a soldier from 1939 to 1945 and was most recently taken prisoner, from which he was released in 1946.

Political party

Barche joined the Socialist Workers' Youth (SAJ) in 1928 . After the National Socialists came to power, he pursued an illegal political activity in the Socialist Front until 1935 . He joined the SPD, had been a full-time managing director since 1949 and in 1966 became the party's local political advisor in the Hanover district .

MP

Barche was a member of the German Bundestag from April 14, 1967, when he replaced the late MP Helmut Schlueter, until 1976. He entered parliament in the fifth and sixth electoral terms via the state list of the SPD Lower Saxony . In the seventh electoral term (from 1972) he represented the Gifhorn - Peine constituency as a directly elected member.
