Hermann Benjes

Hermann Benjes (born April 27, 1937 in Drakenburg ; † October 24, 2007 in Asendorf ) was a German landscape gardener , nature photographer and writer .

Career

Hermann Benjes became known nationwide at the beginning of the 1980s through the development of a land revitalization concept using field hedges . As the concept proved its worth, this technique was named after him as a so-called Benjes hedge . From 1981 he gave thousands of slide shows, first about field hedges and from 1995 on the theories of Silvio Gesell .

Benjes was one of the most famous activists of the free economy movement . From 1999 to 2000 he was the first chairman of the Free Social Union , a free economy -oriented small party that has been called the Human Economy Party since 2002 . On May 31, 2003, he and like-minded people founded the German Free Trade Association in Kassel , after having been active alone for years and trying to stay in contact with the readers of his book by publishing a small circular, The Inner Circle .

Hermann Benjes was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation for Ecology and Democracy

He is the brother of the teacher, author and landscape gardener Heinrich Benjes .
