Hermann Benrath
Hermann Eugen Isaac Benrath (born March 27, jul. / 8. April 1838 greg. In Saint Petersburg , † April 12 jul. / 24. April 1885 greg. In Woiseck (Estonian: Võisiku ), Estonia ) was a Baltic German Chemist .
Life
After attending school in Düren and Pernau , Benrath first studied medicine, then chemistry at the University of Dorpat . In 1868 he was at Carl Ernst Heinrich Schmidt with the work of the normal composition of lead-free glass, and the deviations of the same in practice doctorate . From 1865 to 1879 he was director of the Lisette glassworks near Woiseck, then director of the Catharina mirror factory near Oberpahlen. In 1864 Benrath married Marie Amelung, a sister of Friedrich Amelung .
