Hermann Bitz (born September 21, 1950 in Olsbrücken ) is a former German football player.

Career, 1960 to 1981

1. FC Kaiserslautern, until 1975

Bitz - in the 1970/71 season with the amateur team of the Palatinate in the 1. Amateur League Southwest - played 1971 under coach Dietrich Weise (from March 11, 1971 in office) as an amateur at the end of the round against MSV Duisburg (May 29) and VfB Stuttgart (June 5) its first two Bundesliga appearances for 1. FC Kaiserslautern . Previously, Bitz had already made his debut in the German national soccer team of the amateurs during their Africa tour in December 1970 / January 1971 and thus had good prospects of being included in the squad for the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich.

In his first Bundesliga round in 1971/72, Bitz came in seventh with the Betzenberg team and played 33 games with seven goals. His achievements were underlined by his appointment to the DFB junior national team U 23 on May 11, 1972 in Duisburg against the Soviet Union. In the DFB Cup , the midfield technician moved into the final with 1. FC Kaiserslautern. On July 1, 1972, however, Bitz and colleagues had no chance in the 5-0 defeat in Hanover against the storm of FC Schalke 04 with Reinhard Libuda , Klaus Fischer and Erwin Kremers . In addition to the Bundesliga appearances and the cup games, the talent from Kaiserslautern played eleven international games in preparation for the 1972 Olympic tournament in Munich in the amateur national team under DFB coach Jupp Derwall . Before the start of the Bundesliga round 1972/73, the games took place in Munich and Bitz took part in all six meetings of the DFB team, including the prestigious battle on September 8, 1972 in Munich in front of 80,000 spectators against the GDR. With this game Bitz ended his career in the amateur national team after 23 appearances.

In the first year as coach of Erich Ribbeck in Kaiserslautern, 1973/74, Bitz came to 32 missions and completed his second game in the junior national team on October 24, 1973 in Bochum. In the 3-0 win against Denmark he formed the attack of the DFB-Elf together with Willi Reimann , Hans Walitza , Klaus Wunder and Ronald Worm . Spectacular in this round for Bitz and his teammates was the 7: 4 home win of Lautern against FC Bayern Munich after a 1: 3 half-time deficit on matchday 12. After the 1974/75 round, Bitz ended his activity in Kaiserslautern after 132 Bundesliga appearances and 15 hits and moved to Kickers Offenbach at Bieberer Berg .

Kickers Offenbach, 1975 to 1979

With their coach Otto Rehhagel , the Offenbachers occupied eighth place in the Bundesliga in 1974/75 and went optimistically into the 1975/76 round with the new addition from Betzenberg. Rehhagel was released in December 1975 and the Kickers were relegated from the Bundesliga in the summer of 1976. Like Josef Hickersberger, Bitz had played all 34 games and stayed in Offenbach in the 2nd Bundesliga . From 1976 to 1979 he was one of the top performers of the Kickers-Elf, which came in third, fifth and sixth in the second league in the three rounds, got more and more financial difficulties and therefore also in 1979 for financial reasons Bitz In 1860 Munich had to let go. In the second division, Bitz had played 106 games with 40 goals for Offenbach.

TSV 1860 Munich, 1979 to 1981

With three different coaches - Eckhard Krautzun , Alfred Baumann , Carl-Heinz Rühl - and the injury-related loss of Heinz Flohe after 14 games, the "Löwen" were able to keep the class with the 13th place as a climber. Bitz had played 23 games and scored four goals. In his second season at 1860 Munich, Bitz came on 19 missions in 1980/81 and was unable to prevent the Munich team from being relegated again alongside Horst Wohlers and Rudolf Völler . In the summer of 1981 he ended his career as a licensed player in the Bundesliga.
