Hermann Breast

Hermann Busen (born July 13, 1913 in Bottrop , † March 26, 1971 in Münster ) was a German architect and preservationist .

Life

After studying architecture in Stuttgart, Busen worked as a construction referendar at the General Building Council for the redesign of the “capital of movement” Munich under Hermann Giesler . After receiving his doctorate in 1941 at the Technical University of Stuttgart with a dissertation on the building history of the Cappenberg monastery church , he passed the second state examination in 1942. In the immediate post-war period he initially worked as a freelance architect, in 1951 he took up the post of deputy state curator at the Westphalian provincial administration (from 1953 Landschaftsverband Westfalen-Lippe ) . In October 1959 he was appointed state curator to succeed Theodor Rensing .

From 1968 until his death Hermann Busen was first chairman of the Henry van de Velde Society in Hagen.
