Hermann Eichhorst
Hermann Ludwig Eichhorst (born March 3, 1849 in Königsberg i. Pr. , † July 26, 1921 in Zurich ) was a German internist.
Life
The son of the office director Johann Friedrich Wilhelm Eichhorst (1814–1873), he studied at the Albertus University in Königsberg with Ernst von Leyden and Bernhard Naunyn and became the assistant to Friedrich Theodor von Frerichs in Berlin, where he obtained his doctorate in 1873.
In 1876 he was appointed associate professor for skin and childhood diseases at the University of Jena and the following year at the Medical Polyclinic of the Georg-August University in Göttingen .
From 1884 he was full professor for internal medicine and director at the medical clinic in Zurich.
In 1890 he was accepted into the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina .
