Hermann Faber (theologian)

Hermann Faber (born February 14, 1888 in Stuttgart , † April 14, 1979 in Tübingen ) was a German Protestant theologian.

Career

Faber studied theology and philosophy in Tübingen and Berlin. After his habilitation, he was a private lecturer from 1922, then an associate professor for systematic theology at the University of Marburg . In 1923 he followed a call as full professor for practical theology and ethics at the University of Tübingen . In 1956 he retired.

From 1946 he was head of the Evangelical Relief Organization and the Inner Mission in southern Württemberg. He was co-editor of the second edition of Religion Past and Present .
