Hermann Fister

Hermann Fister (born April 7, 1938 in Wulkaprodersdorf , † June 20, 2006 ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). From 1991 to 1996 he was regional councilor in the Burgenland regional government and in 1996 he was briefly 3rd president of the Burgenland regional parliament .

Life

Fister was born the son of a businessman and attended elementary school in Wulkaprodersdorf. He then switched to the Realgymnasium in Eisenstadt and graduated from the Federal Trade School in Mödling, where he passed his Matura in 1958. He then studied architecture at the Vienna University of Technology and after completing his studies worked as an architect, his profession leading to Syria , Israel and Lebanon . Fister joined the Province of Burgenland in 1967 and in 1976 became the official head of the Northern Burgenland Water Supply Association.

In the political field, Fister took over the position of mayor of Wulkaprodersdorf in 1984 , which he held until 1991. From July 18, 1991 to June 27, 1996 he was the regional councilor for housing subsidies, spatial planning, hospitals, village renewal and sport in the regional government Stix I , but left the state government after losing a seat in the state elections in 1996 . After that, Fister acted as 3rd President of the State Parliament from June 27, 1996, but had to leave the State Parliament again on September 30, 1996 for health reasons.
