Hermann Flender (theologian)

Hermann Flender (* 1653 in Siegen ; † May 11, 1725 in Seßlach ) was a Roman Catholic German theologian , dean and benefactor .

Life

He studied in Prague and appears in the register as Baccalaureus theol. and cand.jur. In 1680 he became the chaplain of his uncle Johannes Flender in Schnaittach , on September 12, 1682 the first pastor of the parish of Neunkirchen am Sand , which had previously belonged to Schnaittach , in 1684 in Wachenroth , 1689 in Schlüsselfeld, on June 16, 1696 in Seßlach ; later he was still the Definitor of the chapter on Boars ; he died as dean in Sesslach on May 11, 1725, where he was buried in the Kreuzkapelle he had built. He left his congregation the considerable sum of 11,336 guilders for the time , which he intended for the city poor and sick of the parish of Seßlach and for the procurement of clothes for poor children and for school libraries. In Seßlach he is considered a benefactor of the community.
