Hermann Franke (Cantor)
Hermann Franke (born February 9, 1834 in Neusalz , Province of Silesia ; † 1919 in Sorau , Province of Lower Silesia ) was a German cantor and composer.
life and work
Franke was a student of Adolph Bernhard Marx . He was first cantor in Crossen ( Oder ). In 1869 he became cantor at the main church in Sorau.
Franke wrote the oratorio Isaac's Sacrifice , various choral and orchestral works, two piano trios op.257 and op.65 and the cello sonata in G minor op.69.
