Hermann Friedrich Krummacher

Hermann Friedrich Krummacher (born October 17, 1828 in Langenberg (Rhineland) , † June 15, 1890 in Weingarten (Württemberg) ) was a German Protestant theologian and pioneer of the Inner Mission ( Diakonie ) in Pomerania . He was the son of Emil Wilhelm Krummacher and the older brother of Karl Emil Krummacher .

Life

After studying theology, he worked as an assistant to Johann Hinrich Wichern for two years in the Rauhen Haus in Hamburg. 1856 reformed pastor at the reformed St. John's Church in Brandenburg an der Havel , 1877 consistorial councilor and secretary of the Provincial Association for Inner Mission in Stettin . Board member of the diaconal works Züllchow, Tabor and Salem. Krummacher played a major role in the development of Protestant social work in Pomerania.
