Hermann Geißler (politician)

Hermann Geißler (born August 10, 1920 in Stuttgart , † June 6, 2001 in Graz ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and industrial clerk. From 1957 to 1970 he was a member of the Austrian National Council .

Geissler attended elementary school in Salzburg and then graduated from high school, where he passed the Matura in 1939 . He then studied at the Graz University of Technology and the University of Graz and obtained his doctorate in 1949. From 1950 Geissler worked as an authorized signatory in his father's company.

Geissler was involved in local politics as a councilor in Pernegg an der Mur and was a member of the professional association of the sawing industry. He was also a board member of the Styrian Chamber of Commerce and was active as an advisory board member and board member of the Association of Austrian Industrialists . In the Wirtschaftsbund , he took on the role of district chairman in the Bruck an der Mur district , and was also the chairman of the monitoring committee of the Styrian regional health insurance fund. He represented the ÖVP in the National Council between May 20, 1957 and March 31, 1970.
