Hermann Kegel

Hermann Kegel (born July 8, 1913 in Munich ; † November 3, 2004 in Wangen (Allgäu) ) was a German painter and art teacher.

life and work

After a childhood in Wedel near Hamburg, Kegel studied at the University of Fine Arts in Berlin from 1939 to 1941 .

After 1945 he moved to Meersburg on Lake Constance . Kegel worked for 30 years until his retirement in 1978 as an art teacher at the Schloss Salem private school and then settled as a freelance artist in Meersburg.

Kegel was married to the painter Maria Kegel-Maillard , who also taught at Salem Castle for a time. The painter Christiane Kegel (born 1946), who lives in Meersburg, is their daughter.
