Hermann Kerckhoff

Hermann Kerckhoff (born January 1, 1900 in Meppen ; † June 1, 1987 ibid) was a German pharmacist , politician ( CDU ) and member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

Life

Hermann Kerckhoff was the son of the pharmacist Friedrich Kerckhoff (1865–1938) and his wife Anna geb. Beckmann (1870-1952). He was a member of the bourgeois elite of the Emsland . His family has been running a pharmacy for several generations, his grandmother comes from the Behnes family of lords and lawyers and his great-grand-uncle was the architect Josef Niehaus . After graduating from high school, Kerckhoff began studying pharmacy and natural sciences in Munich and Münster and joined the Munich KStV Saxonia and KStV Markomannia Münster . In 1924 he passed his pharmaceutical state examination. In 1926 the doctorate to Dr. rer. nat. In 1938 he took over his father's pharmacy after his death. From 1939 to 1943 he worked in the army medical service as a pharmacist. In 1945 he was appointed Pharmaceutical Council of the Osnabrück district. He was married to Antonia Kerckhoff born in 1931. Brenninkmeyer , a daughter of Georg Brenninkmeyer (1860–1925) and his wife Juliana Clementina born. Lamp (1874-1924). Kerckhoff's sister Anna (1903–1968) had been married to Johannes Bernhard Berentzen (1899–1954) since 1925. Through this connection he was an uncle of Hans Berentzen and Friedrich Berentzen . Hermann Kerckhoff died on June 1, 1987 at the age of 87 in Meppen.

politics

Kerckhoff was a co-founder of the CDU in Meppen. After the war he was a member of the appointed and elected political bodies of the city and the district of Meppen. In spring 1946 he was elected mayor of the city of Meppen, and in autumn 1946 he was elected district administrator of the Meppen district.

From the first to the sixth electoral period from 1947 to 1967 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament. He was chairman of the Health Care Committee from September 27, 1955 to May 5, 1959.
