Hermann Kutzschbach
Hermann Ludwig Kutzschbach (born August 30, 1875 in Meißen ; † February 9, 1938 in Dresden ) was a German conductor and music teacher.
Felix Draeseke's pupil worked from 1895 to 1906, first as a répétiteur, then as second conductor alongside Ernst von Schuch at the Dresden Court Opera . From 1906 to 1909 he was the first Kapellmeister at the Nationaltheater Mannheim . He then returned to Dresden and, after Schuch's death in 1914, became the first conductor of the court opera.
He headed the Dresden orchestral school and conducted the world premiere of Othmar Schoeck's opera Penthesilea in 1927 . His students included u. a. Hugo Alfvén , Heinz Hofmann and Ruben Liljefors . He is buried in the Tolkewitz urn grove .
