Hermann Meyer (politician, 1911)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hermann Meyer (* 1911 ; † March 23, 1999 in Seevetal - Hittfeld ) was a German local politician ( CDU ) and honorary mayor of the Seevetal community.

Life

Hermann Meyer worked as a farmer and registrar. The living room of his farm also served as a wedding room for several wedding couples. This is one of the reasons why it became well known far beyond the Seevetal community.

politics

Hermann Meyer held the office of honorary mayor of the former municipality of Hittfeld from 1952 to 1972. After the regional reform of Lower Saxony in 1972, he served as honorary mayor of the Seevetal community until his retirement in 1984. His tasks included, in particular, the representation of the Seevetal community. The community administration, however, was headed by the community directors Hans Joachim Röhrs (1972–1978) and Hermann Schaller (1978–1991). There was thus a dual leadership consisting of a mayor and a community director.

From 1952 to 1960, Hermann Meyer was a CDU member and a member of the district council for the Harburg district .
